Of course YOU ARE, and today we are going to delve deep in some cliche that pops around everywhere, it’s spitted out as a rule of thumb, but I doesn’t get any deeper than a pond.

Although is the very truth.

Nice Guys Finish Last

Have you heard that ? Of course. Does it make any sense. Of course it doesn’t.

Since we were kids, we are always taught to be nice with people, to comply with authority, to put our own desires second to the other person’s – specially women – and to behave according to some strange, unknown and arbitrary code of conduct.

You know what I say about that ?

It’s not that I’m going to tell you to go out there and be an obnoxious jerk, and outlaw who disregards society’s norms, and to go out there and be an ass with every woman.

But again …

FVck that Shit.

I had a friend yeas ago, before I started to study great people, and began to forge my own path and claim my own destiny – the same way you are doing now – that we’d meet and he would be so nice, so self sacrificing that, would eventually, make me avoid him at any cost.

He would invite me to his place and I would refuse just because something in my core would plainly reject the idea. Now that I see what he was all about, I understand him, and the past situation better.

Problem with him was that he is a Nice guy. But the problem of Nice guys is that they WILLINGLY put themselves second priority on anything they do. They neglect their own core, they willingly diminish their own energy and become beggars.

Beggars of friends, beggars of companion, beggars of opportunities.

His wife could not stand him.
His businesses were always erratic, and he developed – as he can’t see the reasons of his own demise – a plainly disgusting victim mentality.

Being Nice is a dead end street, but with a huge vacuum on the other end. It sucks you in, because until you can see it, to consciously be aware of it and start to practice a way out of it the very  behavior will make the person miserable because it doesn’t make sense.

Everybody wants Nice,

Women say they want a Nice guy,

Your Mom wanted you to be Nice,

Your teachers wanted you to be Nice and behave

Church preaches to be Nice and comply with its teachings.

And Niceness is always mistaken with kindness, with being a good Man.

Up until there everything can be handled. The problem arises when the person starts to neglect his own desires, his own personality, his own energy and starts to portray an image of himself that is false, just to be accepted, to be liked, to be validated.

And right then and there everything gets fvcked up

So,

You are a GOOD MAN. Everybody has a fundamental goodness inside.

So there’s no need to be Nice

Fvck Nice.

Stop saying I’m sorry when you don’t mean it. Stop saying I’m sorry when there’s nothing to be sorry about.

Stop saying Yes to things you don’t want. Practice saying NO to anybody, to whatever demand that’s being placed on you – you can always make an exception for this if it’s a law enforcing officer, a.k.a. a Policeman – But Practice saying

NO

It won’t feel comfortable at the beginning because Niceness can be a default setting, but you need to practice.

And start saying YES. To your desires, to your core desires. To opportunities for you. To adventure.

Practice saying NO, to whatever demand to whoever is asking. If someone gets offended, well, that’s their problem. Not yours.

Don’t be an ass, but say NO.

As anything in Life, what you do always brings consequences. People used to your previous behavior will condemn the new one, but that’s because they lost control over you, they won’t be able to manipulate you as much as they used to. Which made them feel pretty good. They had POWER over you. But because you let them.

Fuck That Shit

Time to take your POWER back, the one you have been draining away from you, every time you said yes to things you didn’t want.

Start to empower yourself by saying YES to your desires and wants.

Stop putting your core desires second priority

Start Claiming your pace in the world by saying NO

Bring That POWER Back To Where It Belongs.

The other day I had the privilege on running to, not one, but

TWO

Rock stars, the real kind. The ones that play music.

Many people may act like Rockstars … almost everybody wants to be like a Rockstar …

Movie Actors, Soccer Players, Football Players, Socialites, TV people.

Almost everybody “famous” wants to portray a Rockstar image.

Mr. Duff McKagan. If you don’t know who he is, you’ve been living on a cave for the past 30 years.

And Mr. Josh Homme. And I’m gonna throw some help here, although he’s by far a legend by now, like the a fore mentioned McKagan.

Homme is the leader, guitarist, singer and composer of the band Queens Of The Stone Age. He also has several other side projects, like Them Crooked Vultures, and so on.

Dudes were coming from Rock in Rio. They weren’t traveling together.

Like any other regular folk, they were in the line up, waiting to enter to the US at the customs of Miami airport.

I asked each one of them for a picture and they kindly accepted.

It was 4 30 in the morning, we all looked like shit after more than 8 hours flying. Homme joked/complained a little about that, although he immediately posed with your friend here.

McKagan just said: sure!

Rockstars have such a charisma and magnetism,

That make women wet.

And men to admire them.

You see a Rockstar, a real one, and you have heard all their stories.

You almost feel like you know them.

You archive an image of them in your brain.

After all,

Music, as a perfectly mathematical expression of sounds,

Touches your soul

And you know what is the Quintessential trait of a Rockstar, and why everybody wants to BE ONE

Is that non neediness.

But that non neediness has an origin, a birthplace.

If you’ve ever heard about overnight successes,
History has plenty of them.
I completely disagree with people who plainly say that success has to come through hard work ONLY.
Of course working your ass off is important for success, but,
I say they say that, because deep inside they wish they were luckier before. At least at some point.
Back and forth there’s plenty of people who’ve had a split of a second “success” in whatever area in Life.
And they were, well … successful.
For a short period of time at least, they were.
They probably made some money too.
But the faster they ascended, and the height of that climb,
Leaves them in a place of turmoil.
Because they made it huge.
And remaining on that place, some of them – miraculously – got,
Being that career, business, personal, etc can … well …harm you.
Or in the more extreme circumstances, kill you.
Some people even do that themselves.
Nature’s way to even the score.
To keep around the ones who are worthy.
One of Man’s greatest fears is the fear of speaking in public.
The fear of having to address a group of people.
Back in the cave days, if you were to address your tribe, and you encountered massive disapproval, that could’ve mean getting your head chopped off.
Seriously.

So it’s easy to get paralyzed sometimes when addressing a bunch of people.
Being on the spot light.
Taking the stage.
But then, again, you have Rockstars.
That every time they take the stage, they meet MEGATONS of Positive Energy, of massive adoration, of massive desire from more than half of the people in the crowd.
40 – 60 thousand souls screaming your name. Cheering what you do as your passion.
Cheering what you set your life to be made of.
You are in THE ZONE
and then BOOOOOOM
Cheers of JOY
Every 5 minutes, when you hit the final note.
During 90-120 minutes.
Every time you do it.
…
What do you do with such immense amounts of energy?
How do you deal with that?
How you recycle that in your body and avoid loosing your mind?
Well, with shit loads of alcohol, drugs and sex, some would say.
A shotgun to your head, would be some other people’s solution.
OD, can do it too.
Getting to that height, to that level of success, of fans screaming your name in devotion is not for the weak of character.
Neither for the faint of heart.
It has to be a person that just doesn’t give a fVck
A kind of person who CAN do that, and survive the cost.
But the ZERO fucks given, by Rockstars, and anyone one who SURVIVE the turmoil of money and fame once they reach the top …
The ONE trait that can set them apart of the rest is …

Purpose
McKagan has been around for three decades plus.
A, once you see him, regular man who’s just in love with music.
Because he’s carrying on his back his instrument, on a case.
A High School Drop-Out.
He has accumulated shit tons of money,
Regular passive and massive income always coming to his check account.
Every day of his life.
Until the day he dies.
And so do his grand children, as the right of his music’s royalties are inheritable.
Has fVcked trucks loads of women.
A sought after musician by every rock band.
He has never needed anything.
But to only focus in his Purpose.
The joy, passion, determination and discipline to,
Follow his true heart’s desire.
The only one trait in a Human being that can tackle, or at least resist The Ultimate test of success, fame and fortune is Purpose.
Well, and its sidekicks, named,
Determination, because you cannot embrace  your true heart’s wishes if you’re not willing to make that jump.
To take that Plunge.
That leap of faith.
Joy, because you have to LOVE what you do in order to inspire others, or attract others who will partner up with you in your Life’s journey.
A blind Faith in yourself and in your gifts,
And Discipline.
Because there are overnight successes, but they are rare.
Never said they were the rule.
I said that they exist.
But their existence is brief.
Because they lack in some department.
And if they lack any bit in any of the traits previously discussed,
They are washed off shore by the tidal wave of pressure, lack of focus, and procrastination.
There’s no other way to endure the test of Time.
So,

There are men out there that there are always complaining about the lack of women

It’s true.

Not all of them are going to make the standards of US, or everyone for the matter.

But that’s not the point.

The world IS permeated with feminine energy.

The air is feminine,

The water is feminine

Beer is feminine

It’s everywhere.

And if anyone is feeling that there’s a lack of “women” it’s because they are neglecting their masculine energy themselves. It’s good to look at the dude in the mirror and see if it’s HIM who’s not seeing the big picture.

Whenever someone feels that the world is lacking on something, or that there isn’t “enough” for everybody, they’re seeing things, not how THEY ARE PERCEIVING their reality,

Everybody abhors neediness. And getting rid of The One is a great start to become successful In ANYTHING YOU DO.

But Doc, What if I really WANT a monogamic relationship ?

That’s cool too. But don’t do it for the WRONG reasons ——-> neediness, possession, social inheritance, family pressure, whatever.

Do it for the RIGHT reasons ——-> mutual growth, awesome sex, great times, mutual care and respect.

And always think about “relating” instead of “relationship”. Because “relationship “ implies an static state.

And in the Universe NOTHING is static. All is in motion. It abhors idleness.

You are always RELATING, experiencing Life THROUGH your woman.

Dia de La Raza

Hi there Men,

Today’s an historic day.

It’s a celebration day.

Or at least it is for some people.

For US here, it’s a celebration day

All days we celebrate.

We don’t party everyday. Too much of a good thing can kill you.

But we do celebrate everyday.

So,

Let’s raise our glasses and drink bottoms up.

Today, Christopher Columbus put down his knee on what he thought and died thinking, were the East Indies.

This day has been pretty controversial in the last few decades, due to the raise of awareness of the actions taken by the Hispanic crown on the native American population.

But,

I am not going to delve on the past on things that divide people.

Instead,

Let’s focus on the nuggets of wisdom and lessons we can squeeze out of this event.

Columbus was a Genovese sailor, who widowed, poor and raising a child, went from door to door, showing “His Plan” to get access to the finest spices and silk from The Indies that were so hard and expensive to get, due to the lost of Constantinople to the Ottoman Empire.

His “Plan” was to get to Japan,  secure an area, take defensive positions  and be on guard for the armies of the Great Kan.

From filthy stinking rich people, to Italian wealthy Indian traders, to the Crown of Portugal.

They all rejected his plan.

Portugal had another badass already doing business in The Indies, Marco Polo.

So, they dismissed Columbus.

Then he traveled to Spain. There were new rulers in town. Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand, had recently united two kingdoms by marrying.

He was turned down three times.

But he never backed down.

He kept on coming. He insisted.

He had a compelling vision, and he passionately talked about it to his potential supporters.

Until he got the founds for his enterprise.

Once sailing in the Atlantic Ocean, Columbus had to put down three mutinies on two of the ships.

The last one was going to claim his life.

That last one was going to be held at dawn on October 12th,1492.

All his crew  had it with that piece of shit.

This quest for the Indies.

They are hungry.

Tired.

Desperate.

Hopeless.

Afraid.

They are crumbling one after the other, non stop, each day. One after the other they begin to convince themselves, that there’s no point to keep on going.

That all this is useless .

That better get back because it’s safer.

And Columbus knows it to. He has felt it too

He’s scared.

He knows that one more riot could cost his life.

But he also knows that if they don’t see land soon, the inevitable will happen.

Or they will die, out of thirst and hunger and despair.

But he’s willing to die.

He’s ALL IN on his quest.

He’d rather be dead, than having to live with the regret of not being strong enough to have taken that last step.

To have that last mutiny suffocated.

He’d rather die than have to return to Spain empty handed and full of shame.

Of not delivering his promise.

Of not having his vision fulfilled.

So he’s not backing down.

And on the sunrise of that October 12th 1942,

The furious and determined mutineer crew heard a desperate shout.

Just before going to Columbus chamber to arrest him and having him walk the board later on.

And this shout out slowly started to make sense.

From the look out post on the ship,  after a few seconds of confusion, the message got clearer  …. “ Land in Sight”  they all started to hear.

And the rest is History.

Life, business, women are the same trip that Columbus took.

There will always be mutinies.

And lack of funds,

Naysayers and non believers.

People who will put you down.

But the belief that you have in your vision, has to be the fuel that keeps you going.

That makes you stay calm at the worst of adversities.

Your vision will keep you encouraging your team, family, colleagues to achieve more, to be more. To keep on going strong, even in the worst scenarios.

Be the example.

That dominant, unperturbed, ice cold motherfucker.

Who just believes.

Takes gigantic amounts of action.

And believes. Has Faith on himself, and his vision. The belief that persistence and hard work pays off.

Be the one who, like a rock solid temple, provides feelings of safety,

Security,

Trust.

A strong man who does not bend under pressure

Who has his vision fueling his soul, and his heart.

A vision so powerful that makes him overcome all the obstacles that get in his way.

That makes him stay up at night and wake up at the first sunrise.

For his purpose

For his vision.

A strong man who dares to dream big,

To contribute to his society

To find “ better ways”

And calms down mutinies, gets the funds, convinces the right people with his vision, works his ass off, and realizes his dream.

Even if he doesn’t know where he finally arrives.

Even if he doesn’t know exactly what he has really accomplished,

Even if he has not quite really understand or fully dimensions the size of the achievement.

He never backs down.

He never plays it safe.

He’s bold until the end.

Knowing that the quest may claim his life.

Goethe once wrote
